When the Assembly Rooms within the Parliament Buildings in Stormont, Northern Ireland were badly damaged by fire, no detailed plans existed to allow the recreation of a highly detailed panelled interior. It was left to a series of photographs taken of the Assembly Rooms back in 1926 to provide the only clues, a not only to the veneers utilised, but also the detailed designs in which they were used.
Over a 2 year period SPA painstakingly recreated all the panelling to allow the Assembly Rooms to be returned to their former glory, whilst taking the opportunity to incorporate some modern materials to protect the interior from similar damage in the future.
